Save the dates for the
7th Annual ROCK THE CURE
Fri, May 1st and Sat, May 2nd, 2009

Please join us for a weekend of fantastic music in honor of women fighting breast cancer!

Fri, May 1st - It's an all-request sing along in O'Gara's Shamrock Room, from 8-11pm. Twin Cities favorite Michael Loonan (http://www.michaelloonan.com/ ) will be our very own Piano Man, with his extensive set list and fabulous energy. Set to a background of pink tablecloths and candlelight, there's no cover charge for this evening...for $20 you can request songs all night long. We designed this party specifically for women going through treatment for breast cancer, but everyone's welcome.

Sat, May 2nd - Are you ready to Rock The Cure? Music kicks off early at O'Gara's Garage with the reunion of the Bruce Springsteen tribute band Lucky Town, for an hour-long set of the Boss' best. Don't clear the dance floor yet - next up is Concentual (http://www.concentualtheband.com/)! This band is tight, loud and ready to keep you dancing with songs by U2, George Michael, Van Morrison, Rolling Stones and everything in between. We know you'll love them as much as we do. But don't pull up a barstool yet - we're just getting started. Last but not least is perennial Rock The Cure favorite Tim Sigler, and the Tim Sigler Band (http://www.timsigler.com/). Bringing country music to Minnesota, this is a band who can make line-dancing lovers out of anyone! From Johnny Cash to Keith Urban to Alabama, Tim puts on an amazing show for us year after year.
Doors open at 7pm, music starts around 8pm - $10 cover charge for 3 great bands!

Getting excited? We are, too! Throw in a silent auction, the chance to win two round trip airline tickets, and the opportunity to bid on Tim Sigler for a private 2-hour acoustic performance*, and this is a party you don't want to miss. Remember, 100% of all proceeds from ticket, silent and live auction, and cool Rock The Cure merchandise go to Twin Cities breast cancer charities.

*Tim Sigler's private acoustic auction show to be scheduled on a weekend afternoon, early evening or Sunday so it doesn't conflict with another booking.

We'd like to thank our '09 sponsors for their generous support: BCS Insurance Group and Essential Care, Rolling Rock and Capitol Beverage, MN Thunder, Willie's American Guitars, Bailey Nurseries, St Paul Corner Drug, Blue Door Pub, Caron Chiropractic, Rebel Ink Printing, Steve Wewerka Photography, CW Twin Cities, Jack FM -there will be more to come!

Interested in being a sponsor? Opportunities start as low as $100 and go to $1,000. And in the next 2 weeks, for just a $100 donation, you can list a woman's name on our limited edition event shirts, in the "In Honor Of" or "In Memory Of" columns. It's a great way to recognize a woman you have known who has fought bravely against this gruesome disease. For more information, please contact Angie at info@rockthecure.org

Spread the word about Rock The Cure! Please forward this email to anyone you think might be interested, and look for us on Facebook - "7th Annual Rock The Cure". We're making it easy to get as many people in the door as possible.

As always, we thank you for your support of Rock The Cure. See you in May!

ROCK THE CURE donates $12,000 to the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure
Thanks
so much for your continued support of Rock The Cure! Our event in April was a great success, resulting in a $12,000 donation to the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure.

We are so grateful to our sponsors: Paul Green School of Rock Music, Rolling Rock, Willie's American Guitars, Bailey Nurseries, The CW Twin Cities, Rebel Ink Printing, Central Pediatrics, Piper Breast Center, United Hospital Breast Center, Warners Stellian, St Paul Corner Drug, St Paul School of Rock, Stoyles Printing, Steve Wewerka Photography, Winthrop & Weinstine and the MN Thunder.

As always, the School of Rock Steer Team was tremendous, and Tim Sigler and his band did an amazing job (as did the "old" Lucky Town band members). We even auctioned him off like a piece of meat for a private party!

Remember,  we couldn't do this without all of you. Thanks for helping us band together in the fight against breast cancer.

GB Leighton/Rock The Cure 2008 Color Calendar!

Our
LIMITED EDITION 2008 GB Leighton/Rock The Cure Calendar was a huge success. Thanks to Brian and the band, Steve Wewerka Photo, Willie's Guitars, Rolling Rock and Bianchi-Rossi Tours for making this possible.
